The City of Marshfield’s wastewater is treated at the City’s Extended Aeration Treatment Facility located on the north side of I-44, off Highway W. The plant is designed to provide secondary and tertiary treatment. The facility was constructed and put on line in 1976, substantial modifications costing several million dollars were completed in January 2000 to provide tertiary treatment.
The facility has a capacity to treat 1,500,000 gallons of wastewater per day. The collection system is comprised of twelve lift stations, sixty miles of sewer lines with approximately 1050 manholes.
