WHERE DO I GO FOR SAFETY DURING A TORNADO?

The City of Marshfield has a storm shelter located at the Ellis O. Jackson City Park (the Fairgrounds) at 624 N. Marshall St.  In the event of a tornado warning, the storm shelter will be made available.  The storm shelter was built in conjunction with Webster County and was funded by City funds, County labor, and a Federal Office of Emergency Management Hazard Mitigation Grant.

HOW DO I GET A PERMIT FOR A GARAGE SALE?

Permits are available at no charge at City Hall.  Please view the Garage Sale Policy for more information on requirements.

WHERE IS CITY HALL LOCATED?

City Hall is located at 798 S. Marshall St.  From I-44, go South on Spur Dr./MO-38.  Turn right on South Crittendon.  Turn right on Commercial St. and then curve to the left, which becomes Marshall St. (A Highway).  City Hall will be on the left.

HOW DO I GET A BURN PERMIT?

Burn permits are available at no charge at City Hall.  Please view the Burning Regulations for more information on requirements.

HOW DO I RESERVE PARK FACILITIES?

Pavilions at City Parks can be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.  Reservations must be made in person at the rear Parks door of City Hall.

WHAT IS THE SALES TAX RATE?

The total sales tax rate is 8.058%.  Of that 4.225% is State tax, 2.0% is City tax, and 1.833% is County tax.

DO I NEED A BUSINESS LICENSE?

All businesses with a physical location within the City limits of Marshfield are required to obtain a Business License annually.  The cost is $18.00 per year.  Please see the City Clerk page or the Municipal Code Book for more information.  All businesses that solicit business door-to-door or set up on a lot are also required to obtain a license prior to beginning solicitations.

HOW DO I GET TREE LIMBS PICKED UP?

Tree limbs must be stacked neatly at the curb with the cut end facing toward the street.  Limbs must be no larger than 3” in diameter.  Call City Hall when limbs are ready to be picked up to get on the list.  City crews will pick up limbs as their schedule allows.
