Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department offers co-ed basketball for children in 1st-6th grade and Lil' Ballers basketball for children ages 4-Kindergarten. This is a recreational league perfect for all ability levels.

The Youth Basketball program consists of 4 practices and 6 Saturday games. Lil' Ballers program consists of 6, 30 minute practices followed by 6, 30 minute games. Practices and games are held at Marshfield Community Center. Each registered player will receive an award on the last scheduled game of the season. Lil' Ballers will receive a jersey top, Youth Basketball will receive a jersey top and bottom. The uniforms are handed out before the first game.

Prior to games we offer skills assessments for each player. These skills assessments are not tryouts. Each player is put on a team. It is our goal during team selection to balance out age, skill and coachability. We run assessments to try and ensure teams are balanced. Lil' Ballers are placed by age and don't need to attend a skills assessment.

Lil' Ballers

This program is for ages 4 through Kindergarten. The player must be 4 by the first game. Lil' ballers program is Saturdays only. Equipment needed: All players must wear athletic footwear. A jersey top will be provided. 

• 30 minute practice followed by a 30 minute game. 
• Size 3 basketball
• 6 foot goal
• Full court but smaller dimensions.

Skills Assessment Dates for 2026

Registered players are asked to attend one of the skills assessments. 

January 5th or 6th at the Marshfield Community Center, 110 Commercial St.

• 1st & 2nd between 5:45pm-6:45pm
• 3rd & 4th between 6:45pm-7:30pm
• 5th & 6th between 7:30pm-8pm
• Lil' Ballers will be placed by age and do not need to attend the assessment.
