The office of the City Clerk has many important responsibilities which include:
- Preparing the agenda and taking minutes for all Board of Aldermen meetings as well as all other committee meetings
- Keeping all records and papers belonging to the City and facilitating Sunshine Law and records requests
- Administering official oaths to elected or appointed officials
- Maintaining cemetery records and preparing Deeds
- Processing Business Licenses
- In charge of human resources and payroll duties for City Staff
